The crew was composed of two men sitting in single fi le, with the driver in front and the commander/gunner seated on a sling in the turret area behind him. Allowing for a 360 degree fi eld of fi re, the turret was equipped with either a machinegun or a 37mm semi-automatic gun. (It was some 600 of his company’s taxis that carried out the French operation to redeploy troops to protect Paris in September 1914.) Unlike its contemporaries, the FT didn’t contain weapon stations inside its hull rather, it had a small centrally located weapon-carrying turret on top of it.
